Renu Mukherjee
Renu Mukherjee is a Visiting Fellow at FREOPP, where her research focuses on education policy, social mobility, and the political behavior of racial minorities. Using merit-based and pluralistic frameworks, Renu’s work seeks to expand educational opportunity for all students, with a particular emphasis on empowering those in the bottom half of the economic ladder. As the daughter and granddaughter of Indian immigrants, Renu brings a personal and scholarly commitment to advancing the American Dream.
Beyond her work at FREOPP, Renu is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at Boston College. She was previously a Fellow at the Manhattan Institute. In 2019, Renu graduated summa cum laude from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Her commentary and analysis have appeared in national publications such as the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, New York Post, and The Hill. She has testified before state legislatures across the country and the U.S. House of Representatives. Renu currently lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband and Cavapoo puppy, Derek.
