WASHINGTON, D.C. — The Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity (FREOPP) is pleased to announce that Aly Rau Brodsky will join its executive team as Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer.
Brodsky most recently served as Deputy Secretary of Louisiana Works, where she helped lead one of the nation’s most ambitious workforce and human services integrations. Under her leadership, Louisiana united employment, training, and family support programs under one roof through the landmark One Door to Work initiative, streamlining access to opportunity for thousands of families across the state.
At FREOPP, Brodsky will guide organizational strategy and oversee efforts that bring research, policy, and implementation closer together. Her portfolio will span issues at the intersection of economic mobility, family stability, and effective governance.
“Aly has an extraordinary record of turning big ideas into measurable impact,” said Akash Chougule, President of FREOPP. “Her experience leading complex systems in government and her deep understanding of opportunity policy will be instrumental as we expand FREOPP’s reach. She embodies the principles at the heart of our mission, freedom, accountability, and opportunity for all.”
Brodsky brings more than a decade of experience across government and state policy networks, including service as Deputy Secretary and Assistant Secretary at the Louisiana Department of Children and Family Services and as Chief of Staff at the Pelican Institute for Public Policy. She has been recognized nationally for her leadership in building high-performing teams, advancing social service reform, and helping states design outcome-driven systems.
“FREOPP represents what’s possible when data, discipline, and conviction meet real-world leadership,” said Brodsky. “I’ve spent my career expanding opportunity to families who need it most. Joining FREOPP means bringing that same focus to a national stage by building policy that delivers on America’s promise of freedom and upward mobility.”
Brodsky’s arrival marks an exciting expansion of FREOPP’s work to bridge research and reform across the nation’s most pressing social systems. In the months ahead, she will lead the development of a new initiative focused on child welfare, applying FREOPP’s data-driven approach to one of America’s most complex and consequential policy arenas.
