Donating bitcoin and other digital assets
FREOPP accepts digital assets such as bitcoin, ether, bitcoin cash, litecoin, USD coin, and Dai through our Coinbase donation portal. You can use either a Coinbase account or a personal wallet address to donate digital assets. If you are interested in donating digital assets to FREOPP other than those listed above, please contact us at donations@freopp.org.
FREOPP will hold your donation of bitcoin, bitcoin cash, and litecoin for a minimum of four years, before converting to fiat currency, in order to take advantage of these assets’ properties as stores of value. FREOPP will similarly look to hold ether donations for a prolonged period, after the Ethereum network converts to its new proof-of-stake consensus algorithm.

The Foundation for Research on Equal Opportunity is financed by contributions from individuals, foundations, and enterprises. FREOPP is exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, and all donations to the FREOPP are considered tax-deductible contributions. FREOPP will never accept a donation that is conditioned on predetermined research conclusions or recommendations, or that otherwise compromises the intellectual independence of FREOPP scholars.
